Pcinja Region has population of 243.529 people. The main town in
this Region is Vranje.
Cultural and Historical sights date from many
centuries ago. The oldest military fortress is from XIII Century and
it is called Markovo kale. There are also some well known places
such as Turkish bath-hamam from XVI century, Pasha’s Palace from
1765. where the gymnasium was founded in 1881.
Vranjska Spa is an extraordinary place in this
region-thermo-mineral water which heals lot of diseases.
Economy in Vranje consists of industry, mining,
construction, trade, agriculture and forestry.
Tobacco industry, textile industry and furniture industry are the
most well known industries in this region. Vranje Municipality is
the biggest Municipality and it has the greatest number of
population in the whole region, and it is the seat of that region.
Five Municipalities from seven of them has a cross-border
characteristic. Bosilegrad is cross-border area to Bulgaria, with
its boundary of 54km,

Presevo
Municipality with its boundary of 60km,
Bujanovac
Municipality with its boundary of 14km. The whole area is
hilly-mountain.
