District of Kyustendil is located in Southwest Bulgaria. The district is bounded by the municipality of Sofia, Pernik and Blagoevgrad, and in the west the border of the district is coincide with the land border of Bulgaria with Macedonia and Serbia. In the South the territory of Kyustendil reaches the river of Dragovischtiza, the mountain of Lisez and the river of Bistriza. The southern part of the district comprises parts of Osogovska mountain, Vlahina mountain and western Rila. Administrative center of the district is town of Kyustendil.
